The modern hippodrome meets all the requirements for organizing international races of trotting horses and thoroughbred riding horses as well as competitions in showjumping, sledding and other types of equestrian sports. The hippodrome has a spacious grandstand for 500 spectators to watch the events, stables and a shed for horses, auxiliary facilities, horse running (length 1400 m) and walking paths, judges' tower. The hippodrome hosts festivals, horse competitions, riding lessons for horse sports enthusiasts, and educational activities for schoolchildren "Get to know the horse", during which children can learn about the life of horses, their history, care and the basics of riding.
In 2022, the grandstands of the Lazdija Hippodrome were given the name of Queen Elizabeth II.
