Lazdijai Tourism Information Center was established on April 1, 1999 by the decision of the Lazdijai District Municipal Council. It was one of the first such institutions in Lithuania.
The Lazdijai Tourism Information Center has been working for more than 20 years so that as many Lithuanian and world residents as possible can discover the treasures of the Lazdijai region. Here, information about the objects and tourism services visited by the Lazdijai region is collected and provided, tourist routes are created, tourist information publications are prepared and distributed, and souvenirs representing the Lazdijai region are distributed. The Tourism Information Center represents the Lazdijai region in the festivities of major Lithuanian cities, in international tourism exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
In 2008, a new building of the Tourism Information Center on the Lithuanian-Polish border opened its doors. The modern information tourism center on the border represents not only the Lazdijai region, but also the whole of Lithuania. This is the first stop for travelers from Europe, North and South America in Lithuania, where they are greeted by smiling and always helpful staff of the center. Travelers visiting here find free information publications about the landings, accommodation and catering places, entertainment and routes in Lazdijai region and various other Lithuanian cities and regions. The center also has a spacious hall for conferences, meetings, trainings and various presentations. The windows of the modern hall offer wonderful views of nature, the sun shines on the thorns of green pines, thus creating a special aura. It’s a place where solutions come unexpectedly easily and new ideas are born. The hall is cozy and comfortable, can accommodate up to 6 people at a time, multimedia equipment is available. The building is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
