Movie "Southern Chronicles"

Movies

February 3rd. 6 p.m. Lazdijai Cultural Center will be waiting for you with kozas and trainings, gezas and gazelles, love and rugby. All this and more - in the film "Pietinia kronikas" based on the bestseller of the same name.

The cult novel "Chronicles of the South" by Rimantas Kmita, a native of Šiauliai, is making its way to the cinema.

The last decade of the 20th century. In the Southern district of Šiauliai, known as the city of Vandamai and Švarcai, lives a serious punk Rimants (actor Džiugas Grinys). Like a normal punk, he wears tracksuits, puts on a leather jacket on holidays, and with his friend Minde (actor Robertas Petraitis) he pushes his dicks into the market to play rugby, although his mother has given up on sports like hell because of it. But well, as he himself says, what else can he do here besides rugby?

Then Rimants falls in love with Monika (actress Digna Kulionytė) - the guy doesn't even know what he's fallen for. She's beautiful, of course, but she's a bit of a misguided person. Well, what won't you do for love? Rimants is already lecturing in a book, writing a poem... And the question arises for him - what's the point of all this? Should you be like everyone else, or think for yourself?

The comedy will star Irena Sikorskytė, Dainius Gavenonis, Rasa Samuolytė, Vaidotas Martinaitis, Julius Žalakevičius and others.
