My favorite childhood toy

Educational activities

We are pleased to join Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė's first campaign and invite you to register and participate in the education of free Christmas toys. This toy felting education will be free of charge, as it is given to us by folk artist and educator Jolita Žukauskienė .

"... This year, I invite you with great tenderness to remember your personal most precious festive moments, touches and... most beloved childhood toys. Those simple but priceless moments from the mysterious, white Christmas of your childhood, which still vibrate

the heart

I am sure that each of you, after thinking and dreaming, will recognize and bring back to our common Christmas tree that especially precious childhood memory - the most beautiful toy on the Christmas tree, which for some reason was the most beloved to you as a child. Which used to wake up

mysterious festive mood, boundless fantasy and the best feelings. Which you persistently sought with your eyes and heart every year on the branched festive Tree of Life.

Maybe that childhood toy could be reborn in your hands and come to the Presidency as your family's festive messenger, telling the unique, bright story of your family?

Or maybe you had a childhood friend - a special toy that you didn't just play with. A toy that was always good, that you couldn't part with. You would sleep with him or hide safely in the most secret nook to comfort him and confide all your secrets to him.

Maybe this toy, which created an oasis of special peace, coziness and extraordinary bright friendship for you as a child, has now become your child's or grandchild's best friend? Maybe this or some other symbol of a child's joy could be magically reborn in the hands of your family as a special Christmas toy on the festive tree of the Presidency?

I invite everyone, big and small, to create the most beloved handmade toys that grew out of the light of childhood, symbolizing peace and security. Let our best memories become a tender bond between us all, between mothers and fathers, grandparents and grandchildren,

between friends and neighbors.

Let these toys become the decorations of our common festive Christmas tree, bringing joy to everyone who sees them. May these works connect the generations by carrying the mystery of the bridges of time - that precious thread of love and care that has always accompanied our families. Let's decorate the Christmas tree of the Presidency of the Republic of Lithuania with them.

May your tender memories become the light that illuminates this Christmas. Let the joy of childhood radiate from the White Hall, giving peace, warmth and unity throughout the country."
