Let's take a walk through the autumn forest of Giraitė (Lazdija district). This is a new 11 km long hiking route. We will visit the most valuable natural areas of the Giraitė forest, where hundred-year-old spruces and mature sedges are green, and we will climb the Verstamine mounds. The terrain is undulating and hilly.
During the hike, we will get to know four habitats of importance to the European Community - scurvy, grass-rich spruce forests, swampy deciduous forests and steppe meadows.
We will travel through forest and meadow tracks. There will be no asphalted road and clear forest crossings, and only one type of planted forest will be found on the route. There will be no dry Veisiei or Marcinkonii region-specific pine forests.

The participation fee is 5 euros. Schoolchildren, students, old-age pensioners and disabled persons are subject to 50%. discount
The participants of the hike meet on October 19. 10:30 a.m. at the visitor center of Metelii regional park, Seiriju st. 2, Metelei village, Lazdijai district.
We will travel in our own cars until the start of the hike. The starting point of the hike is 4.5 km from Lazdija.
