The historical part of the city of Veisiejai is an urban reserve of the regional park, which preserves the street network, the plan of the square from the 2nd half of the 18th century - the beginning of the 19th century, fragments of buildings, the panorama of the old part of the city and the natural environment.
The city is located on a peninsula surrounded by Lake Ančia. Veisiejai is mentioned in written sources since the time of Mindaugas (1253). The old part of Veisiejai has been declared an urban monument. The street network, the plan of the square from the second half of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, fragments of buildings, the panorama of the old part of the city and the natural environment are protected. The city's construction is linear. The city center contains elements of the Baroque and Classicist plan from the second half of the 16th century. The street network fits perfectly into the uneven terrain of the area. The perspectives of the streets leading to the center are closed. There are dead ends. There is an architectural monument in the city - a Baroque-style church of classicist forms, built in 1817.
