Bitė Vilimaitė-Šukie (b. February 16, 1943 in Lazdijai - October 11, 2014 in Alytus) is a Lithuanian writer. A master of laconic work, who concentrated a large amount of artistic information in a very small aesthetic form - short stories. He was born in Lazdijai, spent his childhood and adolescence in Kaunas, later lived and worked in Vilnius, lived the last four years of his life in Lazdijai district. Slavanta Sen. in 1975 Žemaitė literary prize;
in 1992 Winner of the best book of the year, for the collection of short stories "Music of the Ice Rink";
in 1997 Gabriele Petkevičaitė-Bitė prize, for the book "Inflated Train";
in 2003 Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, for the collection "Papartyņu solňa";
in 2003 Literary prize of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, for the collection of short stories "Papartyņu solňa".

In 2021, a butterfly "landed" near the Public Library - a commemorative plaque, (author: Lazdi sculptor Algis Kasparavičius), dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the novelist Bitė Vilimaitė, laureate of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, in her hometown - Lazdijai.
