in 1947 October 20 Petras Vilkelis-Barzdukas was appointed as the commander of the 1st squad of the Šarūnas national team DLK Vytenis group (the group consisted of three squads). in 1947 December 14 after the death of Jurgius Ptakauskas-Liepai, the commander of the Vytenis group of the Šarūnas national team of Dainava district, Petras Vilkelis-Barzdukas was appointed as the leader of the group (later - patrimony). in 1948 August 15 he was awarded the rank of junior non-commissioned officer.
Petras Vilkelis-Barzduks died (he shot himself after destroying the documents) in 1949. March 9 In the village of Smališkės, in the shed of Leon and Ona Paliučiai, after revealing the location of the bunker (the partisan Uola, who was arrested on February 26, gave it during the interrogation, who said that the cover of the bunker was installed in the oven). Comrades Petras Žakevičius-Tautmylis, Bronius Sadauskas – Galiūnas and Jonas Jančė – Dziaugsmelis were killed at the same time. Juozas Barkauskas-Vējūnas and Bolius Sotnikas-Milžinas died on the same day in the forest near the homestead. The song "What are you sad, dear Dzūkija" was created about their death.
