On February 2, 1948, the partisans of the Mindaugas homeland of the Šarūnas team of the Dainava district: Pranas Nedzinskas-Spindulys (b. 1925) and Juozas Vabuolas-Stipruolis (b. 1931) were killed in a battle with the Chekist army.
