The Lazdijai region was famous for its famous figures. J. Reitelaitis, a priest and local historian, is buried in the cemetery of Krikštoniai church.
Jonas Reitelaitis, born on November 23, 1884 in Navasodai, Marijampolė county, priest, historian, ethnographer. 1913 graduated from the Seinai seminary. In 1926 he was appointed to form the Christian Parish, where he lived until his death on November 30, 1966. Author and builder of the Christian Church project. He wrote many monographs about towns, churches, parishes, wrote folklore, customs, and collected historical material. J. Reitelaitis was also famous as a doctor. A memorial museum was opened in Krikštonys, in J. Reitelaitis' residential house.
