On June 3, the "Spinning competition" took place in Baltajo lake. 14 boat teams, consisting of 29 participants, registered and participated in the competition. It is nice that participants from Vilnius, Marijampolė and even Biržai came to the competition. The youngest participant was a 10-year-old girl, Mēta, and the oldest was Vytautas, a 69-year-old man from Vilnius, who became the winner of the spinning competition. Although the weather was changeable and not inclined to help the fishermen, there were catches. Vytautas Šalauskas caught a 1.6 kg pike. The second place was taken by Valentinas Petraitis from Lazdijai, who caught a 1.10 kg pike. The third place went to Dainis Balti from Lazdijai for a 0.70 kg perch. 3 women and 2 young people took part in the spinning competition. All participants were treated to delicious porridge cooked by the Lazdijai Tourism Information Center. Dalius Mockevičius, the vice mayor of Lazdijai district municipality, came to award the winners. The winners were awarded not only with spinning cups, but also with sponsors' prizes.
